Qualifiers and Information for the End of the Year 10k Tournament

With the conclusion of Week 33, we have finally hit the end of the season for 2013. Points have been accumulated since Week 19, which is a total of 15 weeks of tournaments. Teams have been dedicated through much of this season, trying to earn their spot for the end of the year tournament which will take place this coming weekend:

North America - Saturday, December 28, 2013
Europe - Sunday, December 29, 2013


The top 4 teams in each region will be invited to this online tournament with a chance to win an increased prize pool of $5000. The prize breakdown goes as followed:

1st: $3000
2nd: $1500
3rd: $500
4th: 6000 gems/team (1200 gems/player)


So without further adieu, here are the teams we will be inviting to next weekends tournament.

North America:

1st: Cognitive Gaming - 905 points
2nd: Team Dignitas - 756 points
3rd: Denial eSports - 695 points
4th: Last Resort - 155 points


Europe:

1st: Azzur - 780 points
2nd: Mortality EU - 570 points
3rd: Amaranthine - 485 points
4th: Reason Gaming - 380 points


Each region will play on its own specific day (as noted above) in a 4 team, single elimination bracket. The first round will be a best of 3 series. The 1st seed will go against the 4th seed as the 2nd seed goes against the 3rd seed.

The losers of the first round will play in consolation (bronze) match which will also be a best of 3 series. This game will determine who will take 3rd and 4th place.

The winners of the first round will advance to the finals which will be a best of 5 series. The winner of this match-up will take 1st place along with $3000.

After this big tournament, we will head into a whole new year where we start the 100k tournament. This tournament will run like the usual weekly tournaments, with some minor tweaks here and there - all for the better good of SMITE eSports. More information will be made public in the near future.
