NA Regional Qualifiers Week 6 - Recap

by HiRez ESports | Jun 16, 2014
The Regional Qualifiers are back ladies and gentlemen and the NA competition is tightening up.  The teams are now locked in due to this weeks hard roster lock, meaning each team has chosen their top players to finish out the remainder of the qualifiers for the opportunity to compete at our Regional LAN.  Lets take a look at what went down on the North American side of Week 6.
Team Dignitas     COGnitive Gaming     The Game Changers
             1st                           2nd                              3rd

First and foremost, BIG DIG is in the house and ready to rock.  Team Dignitas, after returning from the Shanghai Showmatch, despite all the jet lag they may be feeling, completely stomped out the competition this week taking 1st place.  This really puts them ahead in the brackets as the number 1 seed putting them 120pts ahead of 2nd Place COG.  With a 2-0 victory in the Grand Finals against COGnitive Gaming, the rest of the NA competitive scene is really going to have to work hard to secure their own spot in the top 4.

We also want to give a shout out to The Game Changers taking 3rd Place this week after a tough matchup against 3 seed SNIPE.  After losing the Bronze match in week 5 to COGnitive Gaming, The Game Changers changed their game around beating up and coming Five Angry Men in the Quarterfinals, suffered a tough loss to Dig in the semi's before driving it home this week, earning them 3rd Place.  That win is huge for The Game Changers putting them only 20pts behind 3 seed SNIPE.  If they continue to play like they did this week, they have a very good shot at making it to the Regional LAN.

The competition is projected to be even closer in the remaining 4 weeks of the Qualifiers so make sure you tune in and watch your favorite teams.  We always like to improve the quality of our coverage to give you the best experience possible.  Tweet us at @SmitePro and give us your thoughts.  Also, don't forget to follow our Twitch Channel - - to catch all of our tournament broadcasts.
