Hi-Rez Studios is now accepting qualified Sound Design applicants for our Summer Internship Program at our studio in Alpharetta, Georgia on our Centralized Team!
The successful candidate will eventually work with multiple teams to help drive the goals and vision for the group as a whole. This individual should have some experience in multiple facets of Game-Audio. With proficiency in multiple areas of audio or game production - Audio Engine Implementation, Sound Design, Voice Recording and Processing, and general top-notch understanding of what makes sound bring a game to life.
This candidate will work within a new team at Hi-Rez Studios and must have the ability to collaborate with all other aspects of game development (i.e. Art, Animation, Engineering, Design, Production, Marketing) to push the quality bar for game audio. The ideal candidate will have a passion for games and creating fun entertainment. They must be a strong problem-solver and an effective communicator with broad sound creation skills.
This will be a paid, seasonal employee. The deadline to submit all application materials is March 16, 2018. Internship selections will be made and announced by April 2, 2018, with the Intern work program starting late May, 2018, ending mid-August, 2018 (actual dates to be determined).

What a Sound Design Intern does:Collaborate with team to create exceptional sounds that also highly supports gameplayAble to work with Programmers and Designers on how audio should work within the gamesCreatively edit and mix, sound effects, dialogue, and music assets in both stereo and 5.1 surroundCreative sound design that’s in line with the goals and vision of the each titleDefine deliverables, and responsible for the quality of audio work for each project
Who we are looking for:Has experience using game development tools, technology and pipelines including UE3, UE4, and WwiseFamiliar with modern audio creation equipment, software and recording techniques, with a high level of proficiency in at least one DAWDemonstrate modesty and respect when receiving feedback from your teamStrong communication skills to discuss decisions and to integrate team feedback quickly into your workStrong content creating skills for stereo and surroundGood creative and technical thinkerSelf-motivatedWorks well as part of a teamExcellent organizational and time management skills
Preferred candidate has:Passion for sound designExperience with Unreal, Unity or any proprietary game engine Experience in sound design for Game, Film/TV or other MarketingExperience in mixing dialog, music, and sound effects for a large variety of projects in both stereo and surroundExperience in sound design for games and sound-to-pictureExperience using both Windows and OSX operating systemsExperience working with Composers and Sound Designer Contractors
